EcoNarcs 3.0 is based out of La Crescenta and is one of Clark Magnet High School's teams participating in the Lexus Eco Challenge. EcoNarcs 3.0 takes its name after a previous team, EcoNarcs Mk II. Members of this team feel like a family even though the team is freshly formed. EcoNarcs 3.0's teacher and mentor has successfully led many past teams to first place in past Lexus Eco Challenge's, so we feel that we are in good hands.
EcoNarcs 3.0 have won the first of many LexusEco Challenge Competitions. But our battle is not over, we must continue spreading information of Sargassum horneri across the world so no one is caught unaware of this invasive species. Some of our members even got to go to a lab to look at the chemical makeup of Sargassum horneri. We also have several dive-teams across the world documenting their many encounters with this species - expanding our already large map of where the Devil Weed is (and more importantly, where it shouldn't be).

Sargassum horneri is an invasive species originating from across the Pacific Ocean in the waters surrounding Japan. First introduced near Long Beach, it has quickly spread all the way down to Baja, Mexico. The fast rate of such proliferation is a testament to this invasive species' strength and is evidence to why we must work fast - together - to eradicate it from our coast. Below you can see a simplified map of the migration of Sargassum horneri so far. If it is not stopped it will continue spreading across our coast. If you wish to learn more feel free to visit this site or others just like it. Please contact us if you believe we have missed something important, any help is welcome. Thank you.
